Tel: 9851 1918. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FAMILY REUNIONS HAHN / JOHNSON : A reunion for descendants of Rachel HAHN-JOHNSON (nee GOODWIN) will be held at Jackadder Lake Reserve on Sunday, October 23. Rachel married Adolph HAHN at the age of 15. They had seven children: Ethel, Frank and Andrew (born Vic), Dorothy (m. IMMS), Rose (m. BOWRA), Bill and Emily (m. HARDMAN) who were born in WA. Rachel had another eight children to her second husband, Robert JOHNSON. They were Euphemia (m. HOPEWELL), Joseph, Florence, Elizabeth (died infancy), Frederick, George, Isabella (m. PROBERT) and Hilda. The family lived in Angove Street, North Perth, in the early 1900s where Robert was a well-known electrician before he took up farming at Warralakin. Edward and Hannah arrived at Fremantle aboard the City of Bristol on August 8, 1857, with two sons, John and George. They later had two more children, Edward and Frances. NYOONGAR REUNION : A Back to Katanning Nyoongar reunion will be held in Katanning from Friday, September 30, until Sunday, October 2, starting with a traditional Nyoongar ceremony at the All Ages Playground on September 30 at 4pm. The weekend program will include tours of Marribank, Moojebing, Etticup and Ewlymartup, a football competition, community workshops, Blue Light Disco for youth, karaoke for the adults, combined church service and a community march. The Department of Indigenous Affairs Aboriginal history research unit will also be available for community members. Families are encouraged to put together a photo display. Accommodation at Kobeelya. She married soldier John SHEPHERD and in 1847 they left the colony. Sixty-five years later her eldest son, JOhnSHAPHERS, return to WA with his wife Maria and eight of their sons - John, William, Daniel, Ephraim, Ernest, Archibald, Harold, and Stephen. They settled initially in the Kelmscott and Maddington areas. Searching for any descendants, documents, and interested in develeoping a family tree. This year's theme is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. The exhibition will highlight what life was like and how the lives of Bayswater people have changed since the austerity of wartime — through newspaper cuttings, photographs, music, oral histories, artworks and local community records.
