BEER : American relative is seeking descendants of William BEER who was born in England in 1853. William and some of his children emigrated to WA in 1910 and 1911. His son, James married Lillian Maude DARBY in Perth in 1920 and although both are now deceased, some of their grandchildren — Lesley, Julie, Edward and William BEER — are believed to be still living in WA. He emigrated to Perth about 1911-12 to join his cousins, bringing with him wife Suzannah and daughter Florence. He was a builder and lived in Subiaco in Commercial Road (1914-16), Keightley Road (1917) and View Street (1920). The family returned to the UK in 1921. Hoping to get in touch with Arthur's "cousins" — names unknown. There could be a connection to James BIRTWISTLE who is listed in the 1911 census as a civil servant living in Hamilton Street, Subiaco. CATTERALL is believed to have been a Congregational Church minister about the time of World War I. He was also thought to be a scout leader in Busselton at the same time. CONDON/SHELLBOROUGH SITE : The writer's grandfather was a telegraphist at Condon from 1890 to 1894. Situated at the mouth of the De Grey River, it was apparently known officially as Shellborough, although the locals always called the place Condon. It ceased to exist by the 1920s. Believed to have lived in the Perth area with wife Mary and daughter Kay. Fredrick SULLIVAN was born about 1902, the son of Timothy and Janet SULLIVAN. He had three brothers — William, John and Samuel — the writer's grandfather. Thomas and wife Alice had a daughter, Maurine. He was killed in a car accident in WA in November 1928 and Alice died in May 1974.
