In 1947, Deirdre married Geoffrey Luyer, who served with Army Education. Background information sought to include in the story of Deirdre and Geoff. Alice, an only child, arrived in WA with her parents Charles Alfred and Alice WILLIN (nee WELLS) in 1911. She married Edward Stephen BROWN in Perth in 1921 and they had five children: Frances, Paul, Helen, Noel and Margaret. What became of Charles and Alice? BUSH : Seeking family or relatives of Alfred James BUSH, who was born in Gunnedah, NSW, in 1903 and died in North Perth in 1961. Alfred was the son of James Anthony BUSH and a descendant of Jacob BUSCH, one of the German vinedressers brought to the Hunter Valley region of NSW in 1855 to help develop the wine industry in Australia. He was a passenger on the Strathaird, bound for Sydney. It is uncertain whether he disembarked at Sydney or Fremantle. He kept in touch with an aunt in England for many years but she died about 1991 and nothing relating to Denville was found among her papers. Hoping to hear news of Denville or his family. In 1899 it was suggested that a rail passenger service to the course be provided by routing the proposed 8-mile long railway to Bonnie Vale via the racecourse. The railway was surveyed but never built. In the meantime the original racecourse was abandoned in favour of a new site a little over a mile south-west of the town, to which a railway branch line was opened in time for the Coolgardie Cup meeting of 1905. Trains ran to the new course until 1923. The line was pulled up in 1926. Any further information about these events and a photograph featuring a train at the racecourse would be wonderful. Her death certificate records she is buried in Northam but other information suggests she is buried in York. FERGUSON / ENTWISTLE : Alizon Jane ENTWISTLE was born in Lancashire, England, in 1886. According to her death certificate, Alizon arrived in Australia about 1911 possibly married to a Mr BATE/S. Her second marriage was to David Thomas FERGUSON in 1918. They had one son, Wilfred. Seeking any descendants or relatives of brothers Ronald Stanley and Arthur Wilfred FERGUSON, grandsons of David and Alizon. Vincent died in Mt Lawley in 1977 and "John Joseph" died in Fremantle in 1984. The brothers were born in Northern Ireland but were sent to St Mary's Agricultural School in Tardun, WA, in 1952. Their mother was Bridget GALLAGHER (nee QUIGLEY), whose second marriage was to a Mr FERRY. TAYLOR (nee BLYTON) or her family is sought on behalf of the author of a book about Harry STOGDEN, a British prisoner-of-war of the Japanese in J-Force, Japan, during World War II. Harry STOGDEN made the brass cross that now sits on the chapel altar in Changi. He died after the war on a ship off Japan. Ida TAYLOR was Harry's aunt. Among the exhibits were photographs of children taken at GUNYIDI School. Two of the children are believed to be the writer's uncles, Sam and Theo HAMMOND. There was also a photo of a wheat stack. He was the first person to speak and teach Yoga in Perth. His lectures covered a range of subjects — astronomy, natural medicine, history of cultures, art, etc. He was an artist himself, a painter. Written or taped copies of his lectures plus photos and the whereabouts of his paintings (to be copied and returned) are sought by the Universal Great Brotherhood to preserve his history.
