Hi Anne--It would seem most of their time was in Eastern States where does the Busselton connection come in -- John from West Aus ----- Original Message ----- From: "M R Clark" <mrclark@bigpond.net.au> To: <AUS-WA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 24, 2006 3:11 PM Subject: [AUS-WA] Knox family in the Busselton Area Hi John, The family name that I am interested in is KNOX, I don't know a huge amount them as we lost contact with them in the mid 1960's. Lena KNOX was my grandmother's sister, her maiden name was YOUNGE,they had a son named Davey who I think might have worked on the Snowy Mountains Scheme I think they immigrated at about the same time as my grandparents which would have them arriving in the 1920's. I'm sorry to be so "Vera Vague" about them, but that's about all I can remember being told. Some years ago a small plane went down in Warragamba Dam, and Davey KNOX apparently took a small boat out and rescued those on board. If this information rings a bell with anybody I would be grateful for contact. My grandmother's name was Mary YOUNGE she married John O'DEA they married in Wales in 1906. Regards, Anne Masters Clark, In Sydney. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John from West Aus" <jwa30513@bigpond.net.au> To: <AUS-WA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2006 5:01 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-WA] Re: Busselton Area > Busselton is in the lower southwest of WA . Hi John, Only my grandparents and their children came to Sydney, the Knox family stayed in the Busselton Area and just used to come and visit us in Sydney I don't know the name of the man who married my great aunt I'm sorry, but her name was Lena I know this is a nickname of sorts, nobody remembers what her name was, the older members of the family who would have known are all dead, I am the only one who remembers even her nickname no one else rembers any more information than that. The name of the O'DEA family as follows. John & Mary O'Dea and the following children went to Sydney in the early thirties I think. Kathleen O'Dea John O'Dea Thomas O'Dea Mary O'Dea Eileen O'Dea Eileen married a man named neville MASTERS, they were my parents. I just hope these names might ring a bell with somebody.
