He arrived in WA about 1886 with his parents, Patrick and Ann Butler. Matthew married Elizabeth NICHOLLS in Perth in 1886 and they had four known children: Edward George BUTLER (died 1969), Charles Henry BUTLER (d. 1959); Algernon Cecil BUTLER (d. 1942) and Ruby May BUTLER (m. Allen). Ruby May is believed to have moved to South Australia. Matthew BUTLER died in Perth on November 16,1911 aged 49. Did his widow Elizabeth remarry? A daughter, Blanche Hawthorne COCK, was born in WA about 1882. Blanche moved to South Australia where she married Cecil Adolphus Beaumont COCK on October 3,1905. DEWORBOIES : Information is sought for family history about Fredrick Herbert and Constance Chesney DEWORBOIES. Frederick was born in Greenbushes in 1906 and the family lived in Kalgoorlie. Fisher, 103 Doolette Street, Spearwood 6163. mailto:allendale@eftel.com --- FAMILY REUNIONS BRANKSTONE : Descendants of Grace and Harry BRANKSTONE are invited to a picnic lunch at Perry Lakes picnic ground (off Perry Lakes Drive, behind the hockey fields) on Sunday, April 23 from noon. Harry and Grace were married in Menzies in 1903 where Harry was a goldminer. They moved to Corrigin in 1920 to a Soldier Settlement farm. Eight children: Edna, Ivy, Olive, Gladys, Birdwood, Henry, Winifred and Edward. Birdwood, the writer's mother, is the only survivor. BYO "everything". Contact: Valerie Carter, 9305 3624. MAUGER : Charles and Emily MAUGER and their family arrived in WA from Jersey in April 1906 to begin farming at Balingup (Allen-dale). They had 10 children including Charles, Frank, Phil, Emily (m. MAYNARD), Jess (m. WOOLCOTT) and Florence (m. MORTIMORE). Family, friends and lost relatives are all invited to help celebrate 100 years at a lunch at the Blackwood River Tavern (the new Balingup Tavern) on Saturday, May 6 from 11am. A WA post office directory for 1915 lists both George and John as gardeners of Jandakot. Hoping to hear from any other HULL families originating from Ireland and/or Scotland. KATANNING EVENT : The official opening of the Dongolocking School building by Terry WALDRON MLA will be at the Katanning Historical Complex, Richardson Street, Katanning, on Saturday, April 8 at 2.30pm. Dongolocking School was a wooden one-teacher school originally located at Dongolocking, east of Dumbleyung. The school was relocated to the Katanning Primary School site in the mid-1940s. It has been fully restored by the historical society and relocated to the Katanning Heritage precinct where it will be used as a school history museum with displays including items donated during Katanning's centenary in 1989. MARKHAM GIRLS : Seeking descendents of three Irish girls for family research: Mary MARKHAM married Martin BOLGER in 1895 in Queensland, Bridget MARKHAM married William Daniel KELLY in NSW in 1895 and Margaret MARKHAM married James BRIGGS in WA in 1902. They all subsequently moved to WA. (1) Mary and Martin BOLGER's children were Margaret, Mary, Thomas, Cathleen, Martin, Bridget, James and Gerald — the writer's grandfather, who was born in 1910. (2) Bridget and William KELLY had a farm in Korrelecking. Their children were John (1897), William, Paul, Eliza (1905) and Mary. (3) Margaret and James BRIGGS took over the Sawyers Valley (Lion's Mill) store and post office. Their son James was born in Sawyers Valley in 1903. The writer has William's "MARSHALL" family tree going back to the 1600s and is hoping to share information with any descendants. William MARSHALL arrived in the Narrogin area in the early 1900s.
