DALTON : Leonard Charles DALTON (b. 1870) was one of 11 children born to Robert William Alexander and Florence Amelia DALTON (nee PONSFORD). He married Mary Elizabeth WADESON in Coolgardie in 1900. Leonard and Mary had three known children: Robert David (b. 1900), Ava Elizabeth (1903) and Florence Gertrude (1905). Edwin MITCHELL was born in Bromley, Kent, England. He married Bertha Gwendoline Elizabeth MORRIS on November 1,1919. They had two children in England before emigrating to WA in 1923 where they had four more. Bertha died in 1932. Four years later Edwin married Winifred Margaret MULVALE and they had one child. The project aims to list details of memorials which have been constructed since 1960 to commemorate lost people, places and times. They may include memorials to disaster, sudden death, community (e.g. migrant/indigenous), individuals and animals but not war memorials. In those days theatres in Perth would choose a theme from a popular movie and the staff would dress to depict the characters and theme of the story. In 1938, or thereabouts, the choice of the Piccadilly Theatre in Hay Street was The Rage of Paris. PRIDEAUX : A family history book is planned and information is sought from descendants of Theodore Thomas PRIDEAUX (1876-1945) and Sarah HOGAN who were married in York in 1901. Skyworks find : An unusual "grid-iron" ring was found at last year's Skyworks. The finder has already contacted the association in Perth which confirmed the ring was from America. SLAVIN : Pte John Leonard (Jack) SLAVIN was killed-in-action in France in 1917 while serving with the 11th Battalion in World War I. His two brothers also served in France. Edward ("Fenton") served with the 28th Battalion and Frank with the 10th Light Horse. They were the sons of Edward and Catherine SLAVIN formerly of Wellington Mills and Palmerston Street, Perth. In all, 112 "West Aussies" joined the 2/5th. Hugh ("Pat") YOUNG was killed in action at Crystal Creek, New Guinea, during the battle for the Wau airstrip on February 6,1943. He left behind wife Jessie and sons John and Norman. Hoping to hear from any West Australians who were also members of the 2/5th during World War II. WILLAGEE JUNIOR CRICKET TEAM : Willagee junior cricket team who were coached by Don Arundel in the late 1960s was undefeated in the 1966-67 season and won the Melville District Cricket Association premiership in that year. Willagee Alive will hold a community cricket match on March 11 as part of the Festival of Melville to celebrate the story of this team (Willagee's first).
