Dear Ian, I have never found passenger lists from England or Scotland. I think because a) the numbers leaving were so enormous See: http://www.mernick.co.uk/thhol/eastwest2.html#blackwall and b) in the days when Australia and New Zealand were British territories it was not considered emigration. People could come and go. Occasionally I have come across the census enumerator's report saying such-and -such families have gone to start a new life and there are about 30 fewer to count. The only way to find the passengers seems to be as they arrived in the new countries. see: http://www.theshipslist.com/ If you find something to contradict me please let me know. I have tried to find evidence of my gt grandparents departure from Scotland and Ireland for years.
