These races began "round the houses" style motor racing in Australia. Seeking old photographs of the events, programs and news clippings to produce a commemorative booklet celebrating the 70th anniversary. Does anyone know the whereabouts of the original SUMPTON TROPHY? It was won outright by Subiaco in 1956-1957 after winning it for the third time. A second trophy appears to have then been in circulation until 1976-1977. The current trophy — in the club's possession — runs from 1977-78 to the present. George and Isabella settled in the Dalwallinu area. They had 11 children (not in order): William, Agnes (m. JOY), George/"Alex", Walter, Mary (m. McCARTNEY), Arthur, Winifred, Phos, Hilda/"Pat" (m. PEDEN), Les and Vivian. George was a railway ganger and the couple retired to Wagin. FREMANTLE HERITAGE GUIDES : Fremantle Volunteer Heritage Guides are urgently seeking guides, particularly for the weekends, to greet visitors to the Round House and pass on the history of the area to the many visitors to this historic site. Guides are needed between 10am and 3.45pm seven days a week and are rostered on either each week or each fortnight, depending on the guide's availability. Training is given and part uniform provided. MARKOVIC : The writer promised her grandmother she would try to find her cousin, Maria MARKOVIC (maiden name), daughter of Dobrivoje and Katherine MARKOVIC. The oration is open to the public and will be a highlight of the association's annual conference which is being held in Perth for the second time. CAPE LEEUWIN LIGHTHOUSE : The Augusta-Margaret River Tourism Association is undertaking the restoration of one of the original keeper's cottages for use as a visitors/interpretive centre. Walk trails are also planned (with interpretation) within the Cape Leeuwin grounds. Information is sought about the lighthouse, the keepers' cottages, keepers, their families (and friends), past visitors and anything in general regarding the cape. WILKINS : Information and photographs are sought about descendants of Henry and Bridget Agnes WILKINS (nee KENNEDY or CANADY). Henry came with his family from England on the Travancore on January 13,1853. His first wife Eliza and daughters Dinah and Harriet died on the journey out. Henry arrived with his sons, James and Jacob. He married Bridget on January 24,1853. She had sailed out on the same ship with her sister Mary. Henry and Bridget settled in the Toodyay/Northam area.
