Hi Lesley, Maybe he went to Western Australia and the gold fields of Kalgoorlie and Boulder as my husband's great grandfather did at the same time 1907. There is an excellent site: AUS-WA-KALGOORLIE-REGION- L@rootsweb.com that may be able to help you. Hi Lesley again, Another place your Tobacconist could have gone to was Broome, which was a thriving Pearling community in 1907 - also a place my husband's grandfather (GRAHAM DREDGE) found work for 4 years before going to Kalgoorlie. I hope this information has been helpful, if I can help further please let me know. Oh I just remembered, I put a free add in the West Australian Helpline to look for my Father-in-law's cousin known to live in the Wheatbelt area of WA and I didn't even know her married name - and I was successful! I will send you the email address for the helpline after I send this.
