Hi everyone, I am researching Joseph Thompson and his wife Amy Edith Viney who married in WA in 1906. I have been told that he played football for Subiaco. I believe that Joseph was born around 1878. His parents were Sidney (possibly William) Thompson and Isabella Rees immigrated from England. I am hoping that there is an easy way to verify if Sidney and Isabella immigrated to WA. And if there is any way to see if there are other children of Sidney and Isabella who appear in WA Hope some one can help Jill Katherine NT

Hi Jill, The first thing I would do would be to get Joseph and Amy's marriage certificate. This should give the parents names, which would confirm Joseph's parents. It will also give his age, which will give you a better idea of what year he was born. I also notice on the marriage registration Joseph has a 2nd initial of H, do you know what his 2nd name was? I have found the marriage of Sidney William THOMPSON and Isabella REES - June Qtr 1871 - Strand - 1b - 802. The district *Strand* spans the boundaries of the counties of *London* and *Middlesex. *I can't seem to find them on the 1881 Census, which MAY mean they immigrated before then.
