    3. Frist: Apologies for not changing the subject line :) In the 1980's and up until 2004 the Cemeteries Board 'cleared felled' sections which saw all headstones removed. Since Saving Graves WA started campaigning in Oct 2004 they have 'modified' their methods. The more evidence and public outcry that mounts against their claims of 'it is the right thing to do' the more chance we have of changing things. Bright Blessings, Sandra. By " one of the first to go" are you saying that the headstones have been desecrated/ partially destroyed or removed? One of my missions at the moment is to get a headstone for my grandfather; at the time of his death, he was buried in the town's cemetery but the family could not afford a headstone; So, i'm about to approach council to see what i can do. And on the same note, my gt grandfather and his family were all buried on the family property and ultimately the property was bought ( i believe ) by the state govt and is now covered by a huge dam... unfortunately, the headstones were not removed before the creation of the dam. One would think it would be a matter of course to remove all headstones before this happened.... but thats another story!
