An aviation historian is compiling a biography of this famous WA-trained pilot and would like to hear from any old ANA staff who could help with details of his career as a DC-4 captain, particularly during the war years. Margaret died in 1929 and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery. Pte BROWN served with the 2/llth Battalion in World War II and was killed in action at Crete on May 27,1941. His wife was Victoria Minnie BROWN and they lived in Wembley. Their children were Mary Hannah, John, Robert, Joseph and George. Robert was born in a cave on Bather's Beach in 1846. He married Mary MURRAY and died in 1942. Their children were Amanda, Adeline, Alice, Mabel, Victoria, Eveleen and Robert. The family of Lillian HESSE, who died in 1993, may be able to help. The year 1906 was a time of great building activity in the community and the Presbyterian Church was one of many public buildings erected at that time. LOCKHART : The writer's cousin, William (Bill) LOCKHART, was a forestry officer and lived in several different forestry settlements before he died in Perth in 1948 aged 48. The writer is editing the correspondence of Les MURRAY for publication — with Murray's support and help. He would be most grateful for any letters or cards MURRAY has written from his childhood to the present and will happily pay copying or postage costs. Henry and Eliza are recorded as being the parents of Dorothy May NEAL on Dorothy's marriage certificate when she married James GARDINER.. Dorothy is also thought to have had an infant brother. This is a mystery because Eliza was recorded as having "no issue" when she died in 1931. "Dot" was five years old when her mother died. She attended Dwellingup School from 1932 to 1938 and the enrolling parent/guardian was a Mrs REED. Henry is believed to have remarried in 1933 to Alma PACKER. This is for an exhibition in the Fremantle History Museum celebrating the 50th anniversary of television in Australia. WILKINS : Descendants of Henry WILKINS, who arrived in WA on the Travancore with his son and stepson in 1853, are sought for a family history. Henry's first wife Eliza (formerly PAYNE nee VAUGHAN) died on board along with their two daughters. Eliza's son John PAYNE, from her first marriage, also accompanied them on the voyage but under the name John WILKINS. Henry and Eliza's son Jacob Wilkins married Caroline Eliza MILLER (nee HANNETT). Jacob died in WA in 1899. Henry remarried to Bridget CANADY (or KENNEDY) and their children were: Jane (m. John Innes PEAKE), Thomas, James, Elizabeth (m. HANCOCK), Mary Ann (m. NAYLOR), William and Maria (m. MALACARI). Would be interested to hear from descendants, in particular those from Jacob, James, Mary Ann and Elizabeth as well as John Payne WILKINS.
