They had five children — Austin, Justin, Ruri, Myles and Kathleen. Patrick arrived in WA on the Otago on June 4,1886 and died in Perth in 1934. He was the fourth son of Myles and Mary BRENNAN (nee THORNTON) of Galway, Ireland. Patrick's siblings were James (the writer's greatgrandfather), John, Myles and Katherine. Sarah Jane died in Victoria Park in 1946. Children: Albert, George, Daisy, Arthur, William (Wilfred), Edward and Evelyn. Arthur's daughters married LANG and ROBERTS. FAMILY REUNIONS LOCKWOOD : Seeking descendants of Richard LOCKWOOD and Faith HEWETT for a reunion to be held in Adelaide on Sunday, October 15. Married about 1852, they were Victorian gold-seekers who later farmed near Port Lincoln, SA. Richard and Faith had eight children, mostly male. Some descendants went to WA including: Cecilia PRIEST who married Frederick FEAKES in Highgate in 1906; Isabella (O'DWYER) had daughters Isabel (McCAMBRIDGE) and Imelda (AUSTINAITIS); Irma (MARSHALL) had daughers Irma (PHILBEE/BREWER), Lesley (WALKER) and Faye (SNELLING); Richard LOCKWOOD had children Revelle, Kevan, Joan (MALEY), Colleen (JOHNSON), Maxwell, Wendy (GRAHAM), Douglas, Richard, Walter and Cynthia (TOPNAM). Children born were Jack (1900), Lou (1902), Abel (1912), Italo (1916) and Willie (1919). Parents believed to be Peter and Mary GIBELLINI. Lou was the writer's uncle and all men were in the Australian armed services. Peter was the son of Arthur and Ethel JACOBY. Before the war he was a student at UWA and boarded at St George's College. A new memorial wing is to be built at the college and will honour its members who died in World War II. KATANNING SCHOOL PROJECT : St Patrick's School and parish invites past and present parishioners, staff, students and families, to buy an engraved brick paver at a cost of $20. The bricks will form a path between the church and the school. They had five children: Hyam, Elizabeth, Eva, Lewis, and George. Eva MITCHELL moved to California with her husband, William HUGHES, in the 1920s. He was born in Scotland in 1828 to John NICHOL and Ann FAIRLEY. George married Louisa MILLER in the Wesleyan Chapel in Perth in 1856 and went to live in Albany. Together they had four children: Sarah Jane, Margaret Ann, George Thomas (1866) and Mary Agnes (1870). George embarked on a whaling cruise from Albany aboard the Lydia on April 6,1870. Louisa had three more children in Albany with John BROWN, a carpenter: Jack (1872), Louisa (Dolly) 1873 and William (Ginger Bill) 1875. Information on the life of George NICHOL appreciated. William worked with WAG Railways from 1904 to 1948, mainly at West Midland and Midland workshops. They had five children: Arthur Albert, George Thomas, Edwina Lidiz Elizabe, Dorothy Ethel Valent and Eve Wilhelima Janet. Thomas and Ellen married in 1894. Arthur Albert, the writer's grandfather, was born in Guildford in 1895. He married Helena Maud WILSON in England and settled in Manchester. George Thomas was living in Williamstown, Victoria in 1961. The not-for-profit organisation had an excellent response to their call for help last month (24/7). They are seeking to fill more volunteer positions: (i) mechanic-locomotive repairer to assist railway members with maintenance and major work on historic steam and diesel locomotives (West Swan); (ii) train drivers/guards for historic railway plus general help when not rostered on train duties (West Swan); (iii) gardener/handyperson for heritage property (Maylands); (iv) cataloguer/accessionist for museum to record objects and photographs on the museum database (Gosnells). WA MEDICAL MUSEUM EVENT : The annual LEAVESLEY Lecture will be held in the Agnes Walsh lounge, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Bagot Road, Subiaco on Wednesday, August 23. YANMAH SCHOOL (MANJIMUP): The writer is researching her PROBERT family history and wants to hear from anyone who may have known Eva and Ernest Wilfred PROBERT or their children, Wilfred, Leslie, Eva, Roma or Ernest. The family settled in WA through the group settlement scheme being offered in Manjimup around 1924 to 1939. They settled close to Fonty's Pool and the children went to Yanmah School. MERDEKA DAY : The National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association of WA's annual day of commemoration and remembrance will be held on Thursday, August 31. A service will be conducted at the State War Memorial, Kings Park at noon (assembly at 11.30am in the vicinity of the Kings Park kiosk). Those who are eligible, are asked to wear decorations and medals. A sausage sizzle will follow near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Pavilion, Kings Park. RAEA WA : A general meeting will be held at the club, 13 Field Squadron RAE, Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta on Sunday, August 27 at 1030hr. All members are asked to attend, visitors welcome.
