FAMILY REUNIONS FOX : The extended family members of James Sylvester and Ada Elzabeth FOX, pioneer farmers of Group 8 at Pemberton since 1921 are invited to a reunion to be held at the farm, Fox Road, Pemberton on Saturday, October 28. James and Ada had nine children including: Emily "Rose" Beryl (m. LITTLEFAIR), James Sylvester, George John HAYNES, Charles "Lawrence", Ada Mary (Ennis), Patrick William, Ronald Kevin and Brian Joseph. They were followed three years later by their parents, Edward Worrall and Ellen, brothers Arthur, Edward Worrall (jnr) and John, and sisters Elizabeth and Edith Ann. The family lived in Blencowe Street, West Leederville, also Cottesloe and Nedlands. The writer's grandmother (Lucy) and her sisters Mary and Nell remained behind in the UK. SANDAKAN DAY : The Borneo P0W Relatives Association of WA in conjunction with Carine Senior High School students and staff will commemorate Sandakan Day on Sunday, August 27. The ceremony, which will include wreath-laying, will be held at the Sandakan Memorial, Marri Walk, Kings Park at 10.30am in remembrance of the 3,400 Australian and British servicemen who were prisoners of war in Borneo during World War II and did not return home.
