The heritage-listed house was built in one day in 1916. It will be open to the public on Sunday, November 13 from noon to 2pm. Admission is free but there is a donation box. FAMILY REUNIONS ELLISS : A reunion for descendants and relatives of Alfred and Annie Bertha ELLISS will be held at Tomato Lake, Oats Street, Carlisle, on Sunday, November 13 at 10am. Alfred and Annie were married in Broken Hill, NSW, and came to WA in 1895. They settled in the Menzies / Malcolm area and had 13 children. Alfred (b.1867) was one of 15 children born in South Australia to George and Mary Ann ELLISS (nee MARRIOTT). Siblings: Lucy (1855), Henry (1857), Walter (1858), Ellen (1860), William (1861), Emily (1863), George (1864), Annie (1866), Edith (1869), Theodore (1871), Arthur (1872), Ethel (1874), Phillip (1875) and Clarence (1877). HOIST : A photograph of Cecil HOLST mounted in a decorative cardboard frame has been found among belongings of the writer's mother who was born in Moora in 1908 where she lived most of her 95 years. Pte. Cecil Louis HOLST enlisted in the AIF in Perth in 1917. He served with the 44th Battalion and took part in many battles including Pozieres and Villiers Bret-tenoux where he met his death at the age of 21 on September 29,1918. MclLWAINE/LEHMANN : Information is sought on Eliza McLLWAINE and her two brothers, Alfred and Thomas, who served in World War I. Eliza married Benno LEHMANN, a marine engineer of the Fremantle Harbour Trust. They lived in Allen Street, East Fremantle.
