Dear Listers, I am trying to find a death of an Alan Trevenny GARLICK. I found his name on the Mortlock Library site in Adelaide. It is a newspaper obituary from the Adelaide Observer dated 9 September 1893 . It also states he was the son of Daniel Garlick of the Adelaide Architectural firm of Garlick,Jackman and Garlick.Associated with Marble Bar Goldfields. Surveyor, died on board the "Shaw", Western Australia.I have been in touch with a descendent of the Garlick family in South Australia who has done a lot of research on the family but knew nothing of this Alan Trevenny Garlick. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards Elaine
There is a paragraph on your Alan Garlick on page 153 of the book "To the Bar Bonded" by Kathleen Mallett. The "Shaw" is not a ship, but the Shaw River which is about 50 miles from Marble Bar. This book is in most libraries.
