Is anyone researching the ROWE surname in WA? I have now found a Jack ROWE, born 1897 in Geraldton to Robert and Janet (nee INGLIS) ROWE. Would love to hear from anyone who may be researching this family. Regards Mari in Adelaide -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Can SKS please help me with Publicans in WA from around 1896 - I am specifically looking for Robert ROWE who was a publican in South Australia and may have gone to WA around 1896. His daughter married in East Coolgardie in 1920. This is definitely a 'long shot' request as Robert ROWE is definitely one of my 'brick walls'. Many thanks Mari in Adelaide -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.1.371 / Virus Database: 267.14.9/217 - Release Date: 30/12/2005

Hi Wondering if someone would be able to look up Thomas GLASSON and Emily Edith GLASSON nee BARNES who lived in Boulder, and later in Perth I think. I'd like to find their death records, but can't narrow it down past "Thomas" - I found them on the cemetery sites but there are several Thomas's. I'd also like to find out what Thomas was doing in Boulder. They'd been in Broken Hill before, where they'd married, so I'm assuming he worked for the mines, but would like to confirm. Can you point me in the right direction? Liz in Sth Oz

Hello everyone :-) My name is Tamara and I’m desperately trying to locate my Williams family. My great grandfather was CHARLES GILL WILLIAMS born c1903. His wedding certificate stated he was born in Victoria (Melbourne) but I haven’t been able to find his birth record there. His father was recorded as John Williams and he was married in SA in 1933. A kind person said that they came across a Charles Williams born in WA (son of John) so I was really hoping that someone might be able to look him up in the WA records? It’s unfortunately such a common name but if anyone could offer any help or advice I would be so grateful. I’m waiting for his daughter’s birth certificate to see if there is anything different on that but unfortunately I don’t know much else about this family. There was a possible marriage in Victoria which sounded likely: a Jno Gill Williams m Elizabeth Brown in 1898 but I haven’t been able to find any children listed for this couple in Victoria. So I was thinking that perhaps they moved interstate..maybe WA… Thank you so much, Tamara -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.1.371 / Virus Database: 267.14.9/216 - Release Date: 12/29/2005

Hi Jenny, Please forgive the intrusion but your message jumped out at me. Unfortunately I don't have access to any death information here in WA but I am also interested in Jane Bottle nee Pope who died in July 1924 at Como. She is the Grt Grandmother of my late brother-in-law Brian and the Grt Grt Grandmother of my sister's children and is therefore in my tree. I don't have her parents either and would love that information if you would be kind enough to share it, when and if you get it. Hi all, I am new to the list and have tracked some members of my family to the West. I am hoping for some help in finding them. Firstly Priscilla Holmes is recorded as living at St Georges Terrace Perth (which I believe was the residence of her daughter Mary Taaffe) on her sons WW1 records so this was around 1915-1918 I have not been able to find her death. Her sons were Francis J 1878 Alfred Thomas 1881 m. Elizabeth Summers 1920 England Edward Percival 1883 Arthur Graham 1884-1918 George Henry 1886-1915 Gallipoli Daughters Mary 1879 m. O G Taaffe Ada May 1888 Eva Priscilla 1890 any information re this family would be great. Aisbett Peter died 16th June 1904 Southern Cross. His wife Emily Alice nee Graham died 26 January 1905.Southern Cross I would like to know what happened to their children. Cora Mabel b. 1885 Arthur Graham 1886 Todd Leslie b. 1889 John T P b, 1893 and maybe a Parnell regards Liz pritchliz@bigpond.com
There is a paragraph on your Alan Garlick on page 153 of the book "To the Bar Bonded" by Kathleen Mallett. The "Shaw" is not a ship, but the Shaw River which is about 50 miles from Marble Bar. This book is in most libraries. There is also an entry for him in the WA BDMs Hope this is your man Regards Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan & Elaine Rogers" <alelaine@tpg.com.au> To: <AUS-WA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 20, 2005 5:35 PM Subject: [AUS-WA] Garlick > Dear Listers, I am trying to find a death of an Alan Trevenny GARLICK. > I found his name on the Mortlock Library site in Adelaide. > It is a newspaper obituary from the Adelaide Observer dated 9 September > 1893 .
