Hi Wendy Thanks for correcting that - nearly entered a wrong bit of information - but - it may not be wrong. There isn't a death for Elizabeth Jane Hunt in WA between 1899 and 1902 is there? If so - and I think from memory she did die just after the youngest child was born - then it is likely that the marriage to the other lady is probably him marrying to get someone to care for the kids? Possible isn't it? Can anyone suggest why a shopkeeper (actually a tobacconist) from Newcastle, Northumberland might take it into his head to travel to Western Australia c1907? He left his wife and two young sons behind, and they didn't sail to meet him in Perth until five years later! My understanding is that Western Australia was still in a depression at that time, following the Great Crash of 1891. It just seems a strange sort of decision for a family man to make. Would appreciate any insights. Regards, Lesley Constance Bay, Ontario

This is my first posting to the list. I am searching for Thomas Webster who was born in Bendigo Vic. in 1870. He was still alive in 1923 aged 53 at the time of his mother's death, but after that I can find no trace of him in Victoria. His parents were Thomas Webster and Annie O'Halloran and he was a miner. If some kind person could have a look at the WA Death Index (I am not sure what year this goes up to) or any other indices after 1923, I would welcome any information on THOMAS ARTHUR WEBSTER. Many thanks. Best wishes, Helen Mitchell
