    3. Hi Listers I am trying to find what happened to a boy who was sent to WA sometime in the early 1920s from England. Frank HAKES was born in Northamptonshire in 1913 (parents Bertie HAKES and Ada MASON) Frank's mother died when he was a baby and his father was fighting in WW1 Frank was put into the care of a maiden aunt but got into trouble with the Law and was sent to a children's home in Southern England. >From there he was shipped to WA and wrote to his aunt to say that he was working on a sheep station and was very unhappy. His letters stopped in 1939 -but I cannot find any information that he was in WW11- so wonder where he ended up. The Fairbridge Society have no record of him. Can anyone advise how I can find more information about Frank? Anything at all would give some comfort to an elderly relative of Frank who is still in England - and has been searching for some trace for the last 20 years. Are the Death or Marriage Indexes or Shipping records available to search? Any advise gratefully accepted. Thank you Wendy
