    3. The only Plenderleith birth I can find up to 1905 is this one: Ronald Plenderleith RICHARDSON, bn 1903 son of David and Elizabeth Tr PLENDERLEITH, at Coolgardie, Reg No: 757. There are no births, deaths or marriages under the surname of PLENDERLEITH. You would have to be more specific for HAY surnames, as there are so many entries. No entry for William Plenderleith HAY. 1. [AUS-WA] TEASDALE in Bruce Rock
    2. Ron Davies
    3. Hello W.A. List, My great-aunt Martha Bell TEASDALE and her husband George Lee TEASDALE, emigrated from Cumberland to W.A. in 1911. I know that they were farmers and I know they remained in the state for the rest of their lives, but I know little else, and I am trying to fill the gaps. I am particularly keen to find out where they farmed, what kind of farm, etc., and it would also be good to find the descendants. My only clue to date is the Death Certificate of Martha, who died in Bruce Rock Memorial Hospital in 1960 at the age of 84, widow. Address at the time of death: 55 Dampier St., Bruce Rock, leaving one son - Arthur Cecil, aged 41. If this rings any bells with anyone on the list, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks and best regards, Ron Davies France

    1. [AUS-WA] Private ALEXANDER WALLACE
    2. William Hearn
    3. Hello! I am new to this list, hoping to find information about the family of Private ALEXANDER WALLACE who was born in Longforgan, Perthshire, Scotland, but who served with the 16th Battalion of the AIF during WW1. He died, a POW, in Germany on June 28th, 1917. My grandmother, who was still in Scotland at the time of his death, was his widow. Alexander may have had a brother, a CHARLES WALLACE (a Dairyman), who was living on King Edward Road, Osborne Park, Perth, W Australia, at the time of Alexander's death. If so, would there be any Wallace family members connected to Alexander and Charles who still live in this area and who would be willing to share with me any info they may have about Alexander? Thank you for your attention. Shirley (Nova Scotia, Canada)

    3. Hi genealogists all over Recent emails to Aus-WA-L made me realise that being articulate is not necessarily an indication of knowledge. If you are interested in who owns what in regards to copyright of information, then you may like to do a little research in the subject. To assist you in this, I have found available at www.copyright.org.au (which is the site of the Australian Copyright Council) three relevant downloadable FREE fact sheets in PDF format. In fact these may interest all genealogists and the second one is particularly relevant to the discussion of indexes Family Histories G42 Compilations, tables and forms G66 Research & Study G53. 3. Wondering if anyone can do a look up for marriage of Ernest Roy Lines born in South Australia but married here in Western Australia. Also any children he may have had. In particular an Albert Roy lines born approx 1822. The name of the mother is Doll but I imagine that would be a nickname. Ernest Roy was born in 1898 in Unley and died in 1978. Ernest Roy Lines live in Western Australia for some time and was in the first world war. I am looking for any information or family connections to this man. His parents were Albert Edward Lines born 1865 and mother Mary Ellen Davey born 1870 - both in South Australia. They came to Western Australia in 1903 and lived in Brown Hill (chasing gold no doubt) They had a farm in Cowcowing which was next door to the O'Neills farm (not connected to me at all). Do any listers know of the Lines family when they lived in the Cowcowing -Nallan area. They apprently walked off the land in 1930 due the deppression. Clarence Baden Lines (born 1900) my father lived in the area and played football. He apparently had a liason and had a child (a son) to someone called Bella or Buela. If the child was alive he would be in his late 70's or early 80's. Clarence Baden then went on to marry in 1932. Any information clues greatfully received Gay O'Neill (nee Lines) Western Australia

    3. G'day Michael I wholeheartedly agree with your comments. I have been sent a family tree recently by a researcher and it lists info that appears to co-incide with my own research. However there was no mention of the source and when I asked where they found the info I was told it had been sent to them by a person who happens to be a distant cousin of mine. The information they had was what I had sent as a courtsey to my cousin (complete with lists of sources too) a few months ago. It had taken me a while to research and at some expense too. How can we stop this kind of thing? One hates to refuse to divulge info to people who are likely to prove to be related with potentially useful info to share. May I have your permission please to quote parts of your email on several of the Mailing Lists I subscribe to. I think it may alert others to the dangers and some -one may come up with some kind of answer too, Best wishes Wendy in Oz > G'Day > > To me this looks like an advert from a pro researcher trying > to gain info for their Pay for lookup Australian Indexes website > or for a planned book they are going to publish and gain financially from. > Especially as these messages have appeared over a number of > email lists.
