    1. [AUS-WA] Brown
    2. Hello everyone ... for those of us who have been discussing the Brown family ... I was searching for some Apex Park photo's (which I didn't find) and discovered a photo that I forgot I had. It is of Gerald Brown (son of Maitland) and Hildred YOUARD's wedding .... whilst my grandmother and my great aunt (as 'flower girls') are part of the wedding group I do not recognise any others although I suspect at least one other is Hildred's sister Mary (who married Samuel Dawson) but do not know the others. A second photo is a wedding group, possibly Mary's marriage with my grandmother and great aunt but do not recognise any others. If it isn't Mary it may well be a Brown. If any of the Brown researchers would like a photocopy then let me know. Maitland Brown was buried in Karrakatta I think and the grave had some other family members in there ... the remains were removed to East Perth or the other way round ... I know there was a change ... I did have some photo's but sent them to Geraldton Historical Society. In the middle of Apex Park in Geraldton is a huge big 'crypt' thingy ... I know I wasn't tall enough to take a photo of what was written on the top But know it was for Thomas Brown. Can organise copies if anyone wants them but must warn the angle is not so good ... one definitely needed a 8 foot ladder!! Bright Blessings Sandie

    3. Would any lister know who Whitfords Beach here in Western Australia is named after? I am a Whitford researcher and I have links to a family that traces back from South Autralia to Gwenup in Cornwall. (This family can be traced back to the 1600's) My Lavinia Whitford is the mother of Mary Ellen Davey who married Albert Edward Lines in South Australia. The Lines and Davey family settled here in Western Australia. I am also looking for any Davey researchers in Western Australia who might desend from Daveys from Cornwall - to South Australia. 1. [AUS-WA] THOMAS family new names
    2. Michaela Morgan
    3. Hi All, I recently learnt that my ggg grandmother Martha THOMAS (nee LAMB) died in WA in 1919 and is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery. I have also learnt that Mary Ann PROWSE (her daughter I think) was buried in the same plot in 1962 at the age of 81 years. I searched the WA BDM indexes and found a Mary THOMAS marrying an Oswald Strathmore PROWSE in Perth in 1905. I am also interested in Martha's daughter Winifred (my gg grandmother) born in Victoria in 1979 and a search of the indexes came up with several possible marriages: Winifred THOMAS and Ernest REED 1904 Perth Winifred Mary THOMAS and George Herbert SKURRAY 1905 Boonara Winifred THOMAS and Herbert DAY 1907 Subiaco Winifred M. THOMAS and ? 1918 Irwin I am guessing that the first is the most likely as the deaths of her mother and sister and probable marriage of her sister all occurred in Perth. My questions are: any suggestions on narrowing down the options (I have similar problems with several of the other siblings possible marriages) before purchasing a certificate? Secondly: Do these names mean anything to anyone? Thanks Michaela Morgan Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

    1. Re: [AUS-WA] THOMAS family new names
    2. Wendy
    3. Hi Michaela, What you could do is send to the BMD office here in Perth, and ask for them to check the parents of the marriage entries you have for Winfred, and get them to send you the correct one. Don't forget to give them ALL the details you have, and be sure to ask for a FULL certificate. The address is: Registrar General's Office PO Box 7720 CLOISTERS SQUARE PERTH WA 6850 Cost is $40.00 for a Full Certificate Where Birth, Death or Marriage entry is at least 60 years or older, and the registration number is supplied, cost is $20.00 On my list there is nothing quoted for a search fee.....so I am assuming they will do this for the cost of the certificate. Perhaps someone else can clarify this for you. Hope this helps Wendy Michaela Morgan wrote: >Hi All, > >I recently learnt that my ggg grandmother Martha THOMAS (nee LAMB) died in WA in 1919 and is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery.
