I am trying to find a Winifred FISHER, wife to my Albert (she is not buried in Karrakatta with him - he is in the War Cemetery) I know she was alive Jan 1951 as she wrote to the records dept. seeking records about Albert's service in both wars, as she was applying for a war home with the Housing Commission. At the time she was living at 22 Coolgardie St, Subiaco. Does anyone know of the Winifred in the above cemetery or the people buried with her....? so I can decide if she is possibly mine. Albert was probably still in Victoria in 1926 when he attended his daughter's wedding (the last child registered with him as father was 1918. His first wife was named as NOK on his WW1 service record.) So, he remarried sometime between then and June 1940, when he enlisted for WW2 in WA. He and his first wife had first filed for divorce in 1899/1900 but I haven't followed that particular document file up yet! ordered the wrong one prior to my visit to PROV. I have been unable to find this 2nd marriage in Victoria. Thankyou, ChristineR Vic Aust

    1. [AUS-WA] LONG Family Handborough/Woodstock Area
    2. Thomas Peeke
    3. Sunday 13th April 2003 Dear All, I am researching the Long family from Handborough, Oxfordshire and was wondering if any of you know of any links to this area. I have traced back to George Long & Mary Stevens who were married 1st April 1733 in Handborough, Oxfordshire. The family seem to have been Farmers & Carpenters/Sawyers. A lot of the ladies in the family were Glove Makers. I have set up a website with more information about the long family at. http://www.speareroots.co.uk/oxfordshire_family_roots.htm If you think you could have links to this part of Oxfordshire I would love to hear from you. Best wishes Thomas Peeke Oxford, UK -- Thomas Peeke

    1. [AUS-WA] new names THOMAS PROWSE McMANUS NEWTON!
    2. Michaela Morgan
    3. Hi All, I am slowly building up my WA tree. I believe that some of the names now linked to the descendents of Thomas THOMAS and Martha LAMB are McMANUS, NEWTON and PROWSE. I think that Thomas and Martha's daughters married the following people: Lena THOMAS and Cornelius McMANUS in 1900 Mary Ann THOMAS and Oswald Strathmore PROWSE in 1905 Emiline THOMAS and Victor Herbert James J NEWTON in 1912 I have not yet found a likely marriage for Winifred, the one I am most interested in. Before I order their certificates: marriage or death, or their interment records (most seem to be buried at Karrakatta), does anyone recognise any of these names? Thanks Michaela Morgan Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

    3. Hi Sheelagh, The Western Australian Pioneer index is from 1841 - 1905, is on CD and microfiche. No birth indexes released after this date. Marriages up to mid 1960's....Deaths up to about 1985 on microfiche. These dates only from my memory....but am sure they are close. Cheers Wendy Sheelagh Wiles wrote: >Hi All >Do the genealogy folk have BDM on microfiche or CD for WA and if so what year do they cover.
