    1. [AUS-WA] New Family Letters Website
    2. Sanders, Robert (DfTE - LLD1b)
    3. I am in the process of starting a new section of my website where transcripts may be posted of family letters relating to UK families, either sent internally in UK or from/to other parts of the World. I have already tested the interest in the idea on two of my mailing list and found considerable interest and a number of people willing to share their family letters. The idea behind the site is that many family letters include references to unknown relatives or unrelated people who might be known to some other researcher. I have, myself, been the recipient of such information in relation to my own family and my wife's, and it has proved extremely useful in my research. In addition some of these letters contain information on local occurrences, views on national events and other information of general historical interest. Some of us may also have old postcards collected for their picture side which include names, addresses and short notes to family and friends. Details of these would also be welcome for inclusion. If anyone has any views or wishes to make a contribution of a transcript please get in touch with me direct at [email protected] for more information. I will be away from home from 9 June until 13 June but will reply on my return. Bob Sanders Cardiff Wales

    3. Hi Chris, No they had no children. But, there are some questions about them and I'm trying to flesh out what I know. Bear with me and I'll tell you the story! My grandmother was Bella's sister. Their parents, David and Jane Anderson (nee McClimon) were born in Ireland but their 8 children were born in Manchester. The family was a very happy and close one but then tuberculosis and other illnesses began to take a toll. Within the space of a few years, they lost their younger sister at the age of 24 to tb, two of their brothers to the same disease, their mother to flu. Bella decided to go to Australia and marry (we didn't know in which order that was to be) and she urged my grandmother to marry so that she would not be alone. Within two months of this marriage, Grandma's husband died of cancer. The one brother who had married was ill and unhappy. Grandma came to Canada all on her own. We were told that she came because of all the deaths and because Bella had gone to Australia. I looked for years to learn what had happened to Bella. I knew she went to Australia, knew it was Palmerston St. and Mosman Park (she sent us the funny papers faithfully every week) but not the city, discovered it had to be Perth, but could not remember ever hearing her married name, she was just Aunt Bella. Then about 2 months ago the name Hardman came into my mind. It wasn't until the next day that I remembered asking my mother what it was about 20 years ago and she had said Hardman. Probably the only time I ever heard it. And it turned out to be right! From there I found their cremations at Karrakatta, got their death certificates and marriage certificate and found that Jim Hardman was the son of my great grandmother's sister. Now Bella had talked my grnadmother into that marriage in 1905, as she was leaving I thought. But the marriage was in 1915! What happened? Did she go to Australia or not at the earlier time? Bella was a laughing, funny, beautiful (literally) woman but, when she died, the cemtery said that her ashes were "not wanted" and so were just scattered at the cemetery. When her husband James Hardman died, a woman living at his address was the "administrator". He got scattered in the rose garden. I may be discovering an unhappy life for Bella. The Anderson family was always C of E, but they were both Baptists in Perth. I hadn't known that before I saw the death particulars. I have written to the church and hope that they may have some other details about them and am hoping for the same possibility from the obits. Something that may lead to another person or family. Photographs. Stories. Did Bella's obit ask for the Montreal papers to copy? I can't remember my grandmother getting the news of her sister's death. If you're still with me, thank you! 1. [AUS-WA] Unlisted cemetries
    2. Yvonne Zylstra
    3. Hello List, Sure hope everyone in W.A. had a relaxing long weekend. A contact has asked if I could please ask the list if there is such a thing as a list of cemetries that are being compiled which haven't gotten onto the internet yet. The reason in asking, is that my contact is wishing to take a trip around some of them, but not wanting to double up on information. If anyone has any ideas, would love to hear from them. Take care Yvonne
