Hi Listers, I wonder if someone has access to the death index for WA up to 1927? I'm disappointed having recieved a letter (actually 2 by mistake!!) from the Perth Justice Dept saying I need a reference number rather than merely a name, age, date, place of birth and death, parents' names etc in order for me to receive a $25 dollar copy. Without the ref. number it is $35 dollars for a certified copy, over 60 yrs old. Do I need a certified copy? I'm new at this. Best Wishes, Jane in Scotland

I am trying to connect the various branches of Sinclair's that I have. It seemed as if they have inter-married. If anyone has Sinclair in their tree could they please send me the relevant info. My main branch is John Berkley Sinclair son of Thomas but I'm interested in all Sinclair's thanks in advance Jeni
Gday all, I am trying to find information on a William John Morris born in 1866 at Castlemaine Victoria. I know very little about him except that he was living in Western Australia when his father died in 1913 and he was deceased when his mother died in 1924. I have found no records of him in Perth or Fremantle but a possible reference in the Kalgoorlie Boulder Area. Can any one help or point me in the right direction as I don't find Western Australian records over here in Melbourne very helpful. Thanks in Advance Trevor Whitlock

QUINN'S POST (GALLIPOLI) : Dr Peter STANLEY is researching for his next book and is seeking information from descendants and relatives of any men who served at Quinn's Post, Gallipoli. The book will tell its story from the first hours of the landing on April 25, 1915, to present. Quinn's Post was the Anzac position farthest inland, where Anzac and Turkish lines came within a dozen yards of each other. As a result, the trenches were exposed to almost constant Turkish fire and bombs throughout the campaign. The post is now the location of a small cemetery. Quinn's was held by several units, but the one with the greatest WA connection was the 16th Battalion. Archives and memoirs hold much information but there must be more material still out in the community that he hopes to consult.
