Hello folks, Sorry, this is a repeat of a message I sent by mistake to the Request address (doh!) Can anyone advise on the best way to get hold of a police personnel record for William EYNON who appeared in Wise's PO Directory in 1903 and 1904 as a "const. Piccadilly St, Piccadilly"? Do the police historical society have a research service? The WA archives office don't appear to have a list of accredited researchers, but perhaps I just couldn't find it? Best wishes, Lenore Frost Essendon, Vic http://www.members.optushome.com.au/lenorefrost/

Hello List, Would someone know if I am able to find a marriage for WALSH Mary Irving. She was born in 1897 in Violet Town, Victoria, but no trace of any marriage or death here, some family did go to Perth, so I am wondering if she may have also gone. Any help or advise, would be greatly appreciated. Regards Pat Victoria
Hello folks, I'm just reviewing some ancient research of mine, which might benefit by the miracle of the WWW. My great grandfather William James Eynon drowned in the Swan River, not far from the Brewery (and far be it from me to suggest that there was any connection between the two) in 1934. The newspaper report on the inquest showed that he had left his home in Aberdeen St, which he shared with a Mr W Palmer, at five o'clock on the night before he disappeared, without saying where he was going. His body was found the next morning, and by the evening of that day Mr Palmer identified the body. William Eynon's occupation was Fruit Hawker, and he was aged 77. Does anyone recognise Mr W Palmer of Aberdeen St, Perth? Best wishes, Lenore Frost Essendon, Vic http://www.members.optushome.com.au/lenorefrost/

Hello Lenore I know nothing of Mr W Palmer though if you like can lookup the electoral roll for you, it would give a occupation for him It's possible at his age he was visiting someone at the Old mens home which at that time was near the Swan brewery. The area was also popular with fishermen and still is though not sure how much they catch there these days Aberdeen st was mainly residential at that time though several hotels in it and still are several. You no doubt have gone through the papers thoroughly they are in the State Library in Melbourne I think I notice he not buried at Karrakatta which was/is the main Perth Cemetery Helen -----Original Message----- From: Lenore Frost [mailto:lenore10@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, 5 October 2005 9:07 PM To: AUS-WA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [AUS-WA] W Palmer of Aberdeen St, Perth Hello folks, I'm just reviewing some ancient research of mine, which might benefit by the miracle of the WWW. Oh Stephen thank you, after all these years there they are under their mother's newly married name. Mary Ellen RUSHFORTH their mother supposedly married William SHAW in 1901 (I'm waiting on the certificate) unless it's the wrong certificate (again) perhaps Edward was his second name that he chose to use just to exasperate us family history researchers, as our ancestors are wont to do. <grin> Thank you again I'm forever in your debt. Olive was born in 1900, registered under SHAW, so perhaps she had died, another possible record to search for! I have found that twins Ada & Amy Appleyard RUSHFORTH age 17 may have travelled to Western Australia about 1908 under the name of SHAW. Their mother Mary Ellen RUSHFORTH married William SHAW in 1901 in Huddersfield Yorkshire. I believe they had a daughter Olive in 1900 and a son Roger in 1906, both born Horninglow, Burton-on-Trent. I have been searching the passenger lists for RUSHFORTH not knowing of the marriage of their mother, is it possible for anyone to help find their arrival for me. Also if anyone is researching SHAW (I know fairly common name) I would love to hear of any possible connection. Kindest regards, Cathy in South Australia
