Dear Listers, I am trying to find a death of an Alan Trevenny GARLICK. I found his name on the Mortlock Library site in Adelaide. It is a newspaper obituary from the Adelaide Observer dated 9 September 1893 . It also states he was the son of Daniel Garlick of the Adelaide Architectural firm of Garlick,Jackman and Garlick.Associated with Marble Bar Goldfields. Surveyor, died on board the "Shaw", Western Australia.I have been in touch with a descendent of the Garlick family in South Australia who has done a lot of research on the family but knew nothing of this Alan Trevenny Garlick. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards Elaine

Is there someone who can look up a death in WA please? Jane BOTTLE {nee POPE} died July 1924 Como, Perth. I would like to find out who her Parents are. All the best, Jenny.
Hello everyone My name is Jan and I live in Brisbane.. I have joined this list hoping to find my George STAPLETON..who disappeared from Queensland about 1903 George had CRAMPTON relatives in Western Australia and as I cant find a death for him in NSW or Qld... I thought he may have gone over to WA .. to his Mothers family. George W. STAPLETON was born in England in 1866 Son of Mary Ann CRAMPTON and Enoch Edward STAPLETON.. he came to Australia in 1882 with his Brothers Benjamin & Enoch ... Sister Sarah... His Mother and Step Father... Mary Ann & Harry SMITH and half sister Mary Ann SMITH.. George and Sarah being the eldest travelled as STAPLETON's Ben & Enoch as STAPLETON-SMITH. Early 1903 he was living in Toowoomba with Brother Benjamin..(from the electoral roll). 1904 he is mentioned as still being alive on the Death certificate of his Mother Mary Ann SMITH...then nothing I cant find a marriage for him in Queensland and the only death for a George STAPLETON I can find has the Parents as George and Mary....this was in 1903....I thought perhaps the informant did not know George's Fathers name but This particular George fathered children here in Queensland in the 1850"s .. so not my man.... There is a George STAPLETON on the Nominal Roll for WW1 but I dont know how to find out more about him without purchasing his records... A Cousin said she came accross a marriage of a George W. STAPLETON in Western Australia in the early 1900's and the fact that there was a George W. STAPLETON as an administrator of a Hospital in WA......she discarded this information because at the time there was no link to Western Australia.....but now I find George's Mother's Relatives were living in WA... so its quite possible he went over ... If anyone is researching this Family I would love to hear and share what I have on George's siblings.... If anyone has access to the Marriage Index for the early 1900's and can get me the details of the Marriage...and where I would send for the certificate......... that would be a start.... Any help finding George would be very much appreciated... TIA Jan also researching ARMOUR, BROWN,CRAMPTON,HENDRY,LANGFORD/DANDFORD,LEES,MITCHELL,MUIR,NALDER,SMITH,STAPLETON, STEPHENSON.WATT to name a few.

Hi Isabel I looked at the West Australian Newspaper that is on microfilm in the State Library of WA for Suzanne Staniforth in the week following 3 July 2004 and did not find any death or funeral notice. Looking at the main cemetery index online for Perth, being Karrakatta Cemetery, http://www.mcb.wa.gov.au/NameSearch/search.php did not reveal her either. There is a website for Australian cemeteries in general you could try, http://www.ozgenonline.com/aust_cemeteries/ The State Library of South Australia http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?area_id=15&nav_id=654 May be you could look through their site and find an email address to send a research query to.
