Glenn Braybrook talks about the presence of particular flags at miners' protest meetings on the goldfields. He is asking in particular about The Monster Meeting, or Great Meeting of Miners, at Chewton on Dec 15 1851. A flag was apparently flown at this meeting, but "drawings have left historians wondering about the flag's details." He quotes some artistic interpretations in existence, but asks "if anyone has any details - drawings, descriptions, colours - of this flag in family histories, diaries, letters from the goldfields, please contact the Chewton Domain Society. In a few months we will be flying the best interpretation we are capable of producing, so information is needed now."
