    3. As there was much communication between Launceston and Port Fairy in these early days I am posting this email, which I posted earlier to the Tasmanian list... Thelma Birrell This letter has no meaning for me, at the moment and I don't think it refers to my family. It is very difficult to read, but 'good writing' on foolscap and good blue/grey paper - with 'rust' marks of course. I hope it means something to someone else's family... Thelma Written at Launceston 8th July 1838. Messrs John Gore & Co., Gent, We have much pleasure in introducing to you and recommending to you care the bearer Mr.Wm.Williamson who has had the arrangement of ? Mr.Cameron's business for some time........left him for London, and during his absence, in which situation he acquitted himself with great credit.....................many lines.................... ........................................................................ We shall address you more fully in a letter enclosing Copy of Agreement...... Faithfully yours (signature like H.G.& Co. or other ? Then on the back Jn Gore & Co.........9th July 1838. Referring to the foregoing, we now beg to enclose a copy of the agreement entered into and did so with the view to secure you a safe business as Cameron and Robertson now aford ( ?import) and will continue so to do..................more paragraphs to this letter.............................................. ............................................................
