Hi all Again seeking some help from local experts on Warrnambool's history. Were there any ships carrying passengers from the UK that offloaded passengers directly at Warrnambool (or a port nearby) in either about 1853 or about 1870? I'm not after passenger lists or ship's names (but any would be welcome :-) ), just seeing if my theory about certain ancestors arriving directly in Warrnambool from England around those dates is plausible. If there weren't any "direct" routes, where would a settler (in one case of mine a young lady & her grandmother from Cornwall) most likely disembark to get to Warrnambool? I assume Melbourne, but I think I've taken that option as far as I can, so am hoping for alternatives. Regards Malcolm Ward Sydney, Australia [email protected]
