    3. > For those that intend to travel by tram, take the tram along Abbotsford Street and get off at Haines Street. There are a few smaller shops at this corner (eg: chemist, laundromat etc) You only need to walk one block (and a wee bit) to the west. > SHIEL Street runs the same way as MACAULAY Road. Number 99 is at the end closest to Haines Street. Actually I went and had a look on my way home tonight...........number 99 is not at the Haines St end, it is closer to Canning Street, though barely another minutes walk. Shiel Street is a lovely quiet, tree lined street with some two storey Victorian Terrace houses. Has 2 hour parking, if you intend to park near the entrance on Shiel Street. There is also a disabled bay right out front. Otherwise all day car park entrance at 112 Macauley Road. There are basic shops within 2 minutes walk, just over Canning Street on Melrose Street..... Post Office / groceries / fruit / newsagency / chemist. Other shops are at the corner of Abbotsford and Haines. From what I could see, it looks as though the PRO "may" have a sort of cafe arrangement. They certainly had tables and umbrellas at the front. Maybe give them a call before your visit 03/ 9348 5600 If you intend to use public transport, going by train to North Melbourne Station, you would have a 15 minute walk at least. I would think that tram or bus would be easier and closer. Hope the above may help some that are planning a trip to (North) Melbourne after April!! cheers, Leone
