    3. Cynthia, Just for interest, there was also a property in NSW near what has been described as 'The Head of the Wollondilly' (river, the head of which was probably near the town Roslyn, some 30km north of Goulburn) It was one of many owned by a Captain Macarthur who I think was Captain Edward Macarthur, the son of John Macarthur of merino sheep fame at Parramatta and Camden. Anyhow, it was on this property that the McEachern family and James Cameron worked prior to their great overland trek to the Western District where they eventually acqired several large runs around Casterton/Strathdownie. It is quite probable that the naming of the Victorian/Penola Limestone Ridge runs may have had its roots with members of these families although none were known to have owned such a property. However interestingly, one of their properties was named Roslyn, after the district where the Macarthur Limestone Ridge property was located. If anybody has any information on the NSW Limestone Ridge property I would love to hear of it. Don Sutherland
