    1. [AUS-VIC-WESTERN-DISTRICT] Passenger list look up request - Thomas GRAY

    3. I am researching my ggg grandfather Thomas GRAY who married Jessie Lamont in Wannon in 1856, and lived mainly in the Naracoorte SA to Apsley Vic area. I am trying to find exactly when he came to Australia, and have narrowed the period down to between March 1851 and May 1856. Although Thomas was born in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland in 1834, he was living in Edinburgh at the time of the 1851 census, where his occupation was listed as a gardener. At this stage the evidence leads me to believe that Thomas came out to Aus on his own, and that he immigrated into Victoria. Through searching the PROV Unassisted Immigration to Victoria index, I found 4 possibilities for my Thomas: Family Name First Name Age Month Year Ship Port Fiche Page GRAY THOMAS 21 JAN 1854 SOUTH CAROLINA B 059 001 GRAY THOS 21 OCT 1855 JAMES BAINES B 100 006 GRAY ---- MR 20 DEC 1853 JESSICA B 058 001 GRAY ---- MR 21 NOV 1852 AUSTRALIAN B 015 001 I am wondering if anyone could look up the actual passenger list entries for me to see if any is a match. The James Baines ship seems the most likely because of the accurate age given. Thomas's age has been consistently accurate throughout all his records, which I find most unusual!
