    3. Can I ask if anyone is researching or recognises the following family whose headstone is located in the Mount Gambier Cemetery Donald McArthur Died sept 28th 1895 Aged 71 years ----------------- Jane McArthur Died August 19th 1900 Aged 69 years ----------------- also James (5 YEARS) Alexander (5 YEARS) Hugh (2 YEARS 6 MONTHS) Children of Above ----------------- Also Hugh Cameron (60 Years buried 23/7/1871) Catherine Cameron ----------------- Next to this plot, without a headstone, is buried: Catherine Cameron (80 years - buried 6/9/1879) Frederick David Stone (1 year - buried 13/5/1875) And next door again, also without a headstone is a Donald McArthur. I believe that the Jane McArthur above could be Jane Cameron, the sister of James Cameron who married Catherine McEachern, both of whose families were pioneer settlers in the Western district, and that the Catherine Cameron may be their mother. However the information given on the headstone makes Jane about 10 years younger than she actually was. Jane was known to be living with her brother James in 1866 but no record of any marrige or issue to her can be found or proven. The Stone family were also known to be associated with the McEachern/Camerons, particularly at the Crawford Inn, Hotspur but I have not been able to place the infant Stone above with this family. Although Jane's death is registered in SA unfortunately the certificates at this time do no provide any information about the parents although it does disclose that she was living at OB Flat, which is close to Mount Gambier. Any help that anybody can offer would be most appreciated. Don Sutherland
