Hi Listers, Just joined your list and wondered if anyone has a connection to my PARSONS family. George Felton PARSONS (b.1825, NTT) and his wife Emma Jane FRY (b.Abt.1826, NTT) came to Victoria in 1856, arriving at Belfast. Some of their children stayed in the area (Warrnambool, Tower Hill, Kirkstall, Terang, etc). They married into the following families, also from the same areas: ALLEN-ALLWOOD- BANNON-BARTLETTBLACK-BUTTERS- CARTER-CHISLETT-COLEMAN-COPLEY-CORR- DEAL-DOWIE-DREW- EDELSTEN- GELDHOFF-GIBSON-GOODAY-GOODMAN- HENRY- JOHNSTONE- KING-KIRBY- LEISHMAN-LORD-LUMSDEN- MAGILL-MAGUIRE-McKENNA-MORRISS- NAYLER- OFFICER- PATON-PHYLAND-PICKERING-PORTER- REDDIE- SADLER-SHADDOCK-SHEEN- WALDOCK-WHELAN-WILKINSON-WILLIAMS- to name just a few. If you think you may have a connection with any of these, I would really like to hear from you. Kind regards, Sue (Tropical North Queensland, Australia) _________________________________________________________________ New music from the Rogue Traders - listen now! http://ninemsn.com.au/share/redir/adTrack.asp?mode=click&clientID=832&referral=hotmailtaglineOct07&URL=http://music.ninemsn.com.au/roguetraders
Hi Sue What's your ALLWOOD connection? My son-in-law is descended from Richard ALLWOOD and Bridget BRADLEY. There was a family of PARSONS who had a farm at Mortlake on the Terang Road, but as he was known to us kids as "Old Man Parsons" I'm not sure what his first name was. This was from the late 40s, early 50s on. I'll try to find out.
