I have recently received information that a relative, Susannah McIntyre, ran the Sea Foam guest house at Port Campbell back around 1910. Does anyone have any idea how I can check this out and/or discover where she finished up. I have been unable to locate a death or marriage record for this lady and she does not appear in the Vic death indexes, either under her own name or as a child of her parents. the older of the tworobbos
Hello Robbo, Have you tried the Australian Electoral Rolls which have recently become available on Ancestry? I haven't a subscription, so can't give you an address, but I looked up the index on www.ancestry.com.au and there are several entries for a Susanna Victoria McIntyre, listed under a couple of different electorates. Hope this helps Cheers, Jan On Sat, 5 Jan 2008 14:12:01 +1100, "Peter Robinson" <tworobbos@net-tech.com.au> said: > I have recently received information that a relative, Susannah McIntyre, > ran > the Sea Foam guest house at Port Campbell back around 1910. Hi, This may be off interest to you, or maybe not, but.... I have a copy of the book "The Infiltrators A History of the Heytesbury 1840-1920" and I have looked for references for your Susanna. Unfortunatley I did not find her, but there are quite a few references for a McIntyre family who were one of the first families to settle in the Port Campbell area. Is your Susanna connected to them? Hecter and Margaret McIntyre were the heads of this family and seem to have moved away from Port Campbell to Elsternwick in the early 1900's. Twice. Thought it could be of interest to you, sorry I couldn't find a reference to Susanna. Although I to checked the Electoral rolls and there is a possible for you in the Grampians region (Wedderburn) ........ Susan Barclay McIntyre in 1909, 1914 and 1919 and again in Wedderburn in 1924 but the district is listed as Bendigo not Grampians? Maybe her??? If not did she have a middle name that you know of? I could have another look for you if you like (-: Cheers, Nicole
