Hi Listers I am hoping someone may have information on these old Williamstown families and be able to help me. I have no idea what year they arrived in Australia or on which ships they emmigrated to Melbourne. I am searching for information on Henry HAMOND/HAMMOND and His Wife Hannah (nee PEARSON) my Paternal 2 x GGrandparents who lived at "Camness" in Cecil St. Williamstown, Vic. The house was adjacent to the Hotel ( the "Crown" I think) on the corner, which I believe has now been restored and converted into appartments. Henry and Hannah are buried in the Williamstown Cemetery along with Henry's Mother Jane, and their 2 Daughters. My Great Grandfather was their Son Charles HAMOND/HAMMOND. Henry's Father was Captain James HAMOND/HAMMOND and Mother Jane TOMS from Bristol, England. The PEARSON family was from Norfolk, England. Hannah's Brother William PEARSON built both the house and the hotel, which Hannah and Henry inherited, after Williams death. I believe William was also the Mayor of Williamstown on 3 occasions. If anyone is descended from, or has information regarding this family I would love to hear from you. Lynne Price - Victoria lprice@datafast.net.au
