    3. G'day Sue, >Hi my name is Sue and live in Queensland, would anyone be able to tell me >how to contact Ballarat, Bendigo Asylum as l may have a ascendants death >there in the late 1890's. I don't know if it is even still around. The Asylum at ballarat was always known as "Lakeside". Unfortunate;y though you are just a couple of years too late to obtain his whole file. I know because I had to get one myself recently. About 5 years ago I got the complete file on my Gt Aunt, but this year was informed that once someone has been deceased for 15 years or more, the files have now been destroyed. All is not lost though. For we were able to access the various Index cards which are still held in Melbourne. The admission paper was most informative. If you email my sister, ather work, she'll be abel to tell you the phone number and name of the woman you need to speak to. I'd better send you her email address separately as she's not to get too many at work. Regards David in Ballarat >Also my ggrandfather seemed to have worked for the salvation army in >Ballarat does anyone know who to contact to see if there are any details on >him. His name was William Watts he was married to a Hannah Mott >Thankyou sue >_________________________________________________________________________ >Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. > >Share information about yourself, create your own public profile at >http://profiles.msn.com. > > >==== AUS-VIC-WESTERN-DISTRICT Mailing List ==== >Penshurst Historical Society >www.vicnet.net.au/~penshist > >============================== >Personalized Mailing Lists: never miss a connection again. >http://pml.rootsweb.com/ >Brought to you by RootsWeb.com. > >
