    3. Hi Again Charlie, Just having another look at my copy of "The Infiltraltors- A history of the Heytesbury 1840-1920" and have found numerous entries for the other Cobden surnames you listed. I think you should really try to get your hands on a copy of this book, as there are too many entry's to mention in one email. 3. Hi Charlie, I was recently refered to a book "The Infiltraltors- A history of the Heytesbury 1840-1920" it has a lot of information about families and lifestyle in the cobden area. You can borrow this book from a Library, but I did find 1 snippet in regards to a J Spalls being one of the stewards at a race meet on Pg 366. (The book lists all family names and their page numbers in the back). I could send you the paragraph offline if you like, but there are a number of books that have been written about Port Fairy/Belfast, Hampden Shire and Warrnambool with references to some of the family names you have mentioned. I am sorry my family is not connected, but they must have known each other as Cobden/Camperdown were smaller than now places back then. There is also someone who may be able to do lookups for you in the old Papers through the Cobden or Camperdown Historical Societies, have you tried there yet? Good Luck in your search, and I hope this helps. 2. Vivien & Charlie Clarke
    3. I am researching the Spalls who were, and are, in Western Victoria and would appreciate any contacts or information about any Spalls in the area. I am particularly keen to discover those snippets that may appear in local records, histories, newspapers, books of the area etc. William Spall, my gg gf, arrived in Victoria about 1840, married Bridget Mahony in Melbourne in 1843, and then lived in Western Victoria until his death in Cobden in 1907. Bridget died in 1878. The family moved about in the 1840s and 1850s, between Port Fairy and Camperdown, as William worked on various stations. They then settled in the Camperdown/Cobden/Jancourt area. William and Bridget's descendants include Pescott (Geelong), Gellie (Derrinallum), Gardiner, Mudge, Schwarzer, Donat (Queensland?), Clarke (Cobden), Scanlan/Scanlons (Cobden), Power (Cobden), Andrews (Cobden), Woods (Cobden), Howarth (Colac) and of course Spall families. I would be very interested to make contact with anyone from those families. Cheers Charlie Clarke

They were living at a property 'Yarrayne' near Serpentine, Vic at the 1899 referendum, but other owners were listed there at the 1903 census. They both died at Plantagenet, WA in the 1930's, but I cannot find how they got there. Any suggestions? So far, I cannot see them in shipping records (but may have missed them), and they were certainly in WA before the railway over the Nullarbor opened. Thanks Denys Garden dgiardino@grapevine.com.au

There's an Ellen Annie PLOWMAN, said to be born in NSW, marrying Robert Samuel BYSOUTH in Vic in 1907. (Reg No 5). No sign of a death for Eliza under the various search words either. 3. Hello, This is a new posting. I have found that a relative died in Colac in 1884. He was William Eustace HEATHCOTE, who was married to Alicia Grace PAGE in Tasmania in 1868. Two children survived to adulthood - Lucy Maude Heathcote who married Joseph Alfred PRUDEN in 1889, & Arthur Edmund Samuel HEATHCOTE who married Lela Madeline JOHNSON @ Echuca in 1896. William was living at what looks like "Stony Rives/Rivers? Estate, Colac". His death being reported in "The Times" newspaper, London. William was the son of Admiral HEATHCOTE. Does anyone have any information on this family, please? Jenny Vic

The earliest record I have is George Plowman and Jane Richards marriage in 1860. Other family names connected to this family in the late 1800's were; Fryers, Mellross, Upton, Brown, Parker, Wilson and Thompson. My inlaws are still in the area, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Nicole Plowman
