    3. Hi Jules, Yes I do have them, they are 2 sisters of my Eliza Winstanley. I have the a photo of the original marriage from the church and have downloaded the image also from the Vic BDM and am pretty certain of her age and parentage. Her father (Henry) has signed and witnessed the original as she was only 14 years when she married. Her mother though had passed away the year before her marriage in Geelong. Her siblings were born in Dunnolly, and Eliza in Rushworth, I would say on the gold fields maybe. Thankyou for taking the time to look. Kind Regards, Nicole

    3. Nicole, Certificate information is not always the gospel truth. There are these Eliza WINSTANLEY, born BURN 1865 (21767) & died 1866 Dunolly (1228), aged 1 month, daughter of Henry WINSTANLEY & Annie ALLAN. Eliza Alice Florence WINSTANLEY, born Maryborough 1869 (3404), daughter of Henry WINSTANLEY & Annie ALLEN. 3. Hi All, I am looking for Eliza Winstanley. I do know from her marriage certificate: She was born abt 1872 in Rushworth to Henry Winstanley and Annie Allen, but I cannot find any record of her birth. There is one possibility in 1872 but the christian name is Susan and the mother's name is Catherine Sheild's????? She married George Henry Plowman in 1886 at the age of 14 years, and they had a child in 1889 named Ellen. She then divorced George in 1894. The lived in Camperdown and their daughter was born in Carlton. I have been unable to find any sign of Eliza or her daughter Ellen after the divorce???? The rest of her family are accounted for, her father is buried in Penshurst, and her mother and siblings died in Geelong or Melbourne suburbs. This would lead me to believe she would most probably have stayed in Victoria. Any help or guidence as where to look next would be greatly appreciated. A location/registration of her birth, death and/or next marriage would be absolutley awesome. Kind Regards, Nicole

    3. Hi Sue What's your ALLWOOD connection? My son-in-law is descended from Richard ALLWOOD and Bridget BRADLEY. There was a family of PARSONS who had a farm at Mortlake on the Terang Road, but as he was known to us kids as "Old Man Parsons" I'm not sure what his first name was. This was from the late 40s, early 50s on. I'll try to find out. 3. Hi Listers, Just joined your list and wondered if anyone has a connection to my PARSONS family. George Felton PARSONS (b.1825, NTT) and his wife Emma Jane FRY (b.Abt.1826, NTT) came to Victoria in 1856, arriving at Belfast. Some of their children stayed in the area (Warrnambool, Tower Hill, Kirkstall, Terang, etc). They married into the following families, also from the same areas: ALLEN-ALLWOOD- BANNON-BARTLETTBLACK-BUTTERS- CARTER-CHISLETT-COLEMAN-COPLEY-CORR- DEAL-DOWIE-DREW- EDELSTEN- GELDHOFF-GIBSON-GOODAY-GOODMAN- HENRY- JOHNSTONE- KING-KIRBY- LEISHMAN-LORD-LUMSDEN- MAGILL-MAGUIRE-McKENNA-MORRISS- NAYLER- OFFICER- PATON-PHYLAND-PICKERING-PORTER- REDDIE- SADLER-SHADDOCK-SHEEN- WALDOCK-WHELAN-WILKINSON-WILLIAMS- to name just a few. If you think you may have a connection with any of these, I would really like to hear from you. 3. What was the Wannon Electorate called before Federation and the first election in 1901? Was it called Redruth out near the falls? And if so where do I go to find records of marriages or the Passenger list for the Ship the Tornado. I am also looking for a place called Hillgay that was owned by the Hentys' I think. Trying to find where my great grandmother came to from Ireland as an assisted passenger and where she and my great grandfather were married. She was Catherine Murphy and he was James Mahoney. 1850's I'm sure. Thanking you Colleen Cox

    3. Hi Daryl, Thanks for adding info on the names to the site. As you know, Mary CLEARY (Sandford) is my great-grandmother. I do not know exactly where Mary was living in Sandford at the time of the petition, but have found rates notices for later years of the block where the old house was situated on Lower Coleraine Road. As Patrick & Mary weren't paying rates earlier than this, I suppose they must have been renting a house from someone in Sandford. I am yet to find this out. Thanks again for adding the info. I found her name on the Suffrage Petition. 3. Hi Lorene, It intrigued me that you couldn't find the marriage, so I have had a look in all states for the time span of 1912-1916, (as she was supposably 16). I too couldn't find a marriage for them BUT.......... I did find a marriage for a Jeanne Christina May Cole to a George St Clair in 1913 AND These 2 had a child named Alex in CAMPERDOWN registered in 1913 AND on the birth registration his mothers name is listed as Just Christina Cole, NOT Jeanie????? SO.. I investigated further and could find no other evidence of this St Clair family anywhere BUT..... I did find an Alex Beveridge's war record information and he was born in Camperdown in 1912.... So, could it be possible that George changed his name from St Clair to Beveridge?????? Have you been able to find his birth of death??? I have sent you the records and the links.......Let me know what you think. Cheers, Nicole Digger - Edwardian Index.
