I have a lot of work to do tracing my G.grandparent. Namely, Albert Rogers,(at some time of Horsham) his wife Christina (nee MacPherson) and particularly the eldest child Donald whose birthdate I do not know, but I think may have been brought to the marriage by Christina, as a child several years old and subsequently brought up as a Rogers. > > I'll not be so verbose next time, I'll gey my thoughts and questions together. > > Regards Bill Rogers >

The Macfie Clan Society of Australia is slowly compiling genealogical data on all the McPhee (and related named) families in Australia. If you are trying to trace, or have information on, any McPhee (or related names) they just may be able to help you (or you them for that matter). 2. Trevor Jennings
    3. Found this in the Geelong Advertiser 1876: A blacksmith named Bartholomew O'Callaghan, who hails from terang, got on a spree a fortnight ago, which has ended in his confinement in the gaol for 7 days. He wnt to melb, where he spent his money and alarmed police by stating that he had been robbed of a large sum of money. He left the metropolis a few evenings ago in the steamer 'Despatch', and as he had no money to pay his passage, he would have been handed over to police had not a fellow traveller kindly paid the fare. Bartholomew wandered up to Mount Moriac (just south of Geelong), where he committed a petty theft, and yesterday was sentenced by the Police Magistrat to seven day imprisonment. regards, Pam Jennings

His wife was Sarah CAMERON and their children were Catherine, Mary, Flora, Sarah, Elizabeth, Archibald, Christy, John, Anne and Duncan. Archibald married Hepzibah BATESON and is in my tree. Both Sarah and Alexander are buried at COLERAINE. Good to see your posting Beryl O'Gorman Greensborough Victoria Australia

In addition to the subject line I have interests in GIBBS; HARLEY; PALMER and WHIMPEY. These all stem from RUSSELL in Buninyong, and most thru his son, Edward, of NEWSTEAD. 3. This is my first posting and I thought it about time to introduce myself. I am a descendent of the family of Donald & Mary, nee McInnes, McPHEE who arrived at Portland Bay on the "Marmion" in 1852 and whos children settled in the district. Known members of the family are Neil b. 1821 (married Ann CAMPBELL) Hector b. 1824, Catherine b. 1826 (who had a family by George COLDHAM), Mary b. 1828 (married Charles GALE), Alexander b. 1831 (married Sarah Ann PRIDER), Angus b. 1833 (married Margaret McPHEE) Margaret b. 1838 (married Walter CHALLIS) Flora b. 1840 (married Michael O'SHANASSY) I would dearly love to hear from anyone with knowledge of, or connections to, any of these families as I am trying to trace all the siblings. Thanks Debbie for a smooth handover and best wishes with your house and wedding plans. I think we'll accept any off-topic information about these arrangements. Bear with me everyone as I learn the ups and downs of List Administration - and keep those messages coming. I am lucky to have nearly all of my ancestry centred around the Western District of Victoria, so I have a great passion for this area, especially the area around Merino, Casterton, Sandford, Coleraine and Hamilton, with very early Portland thrown in because that's where it all started, and Mortlake where I grew up. I find it very hard to concentrate just on my ancestors because I become fascinated with all the people who lived in these towns and on the surrounding properties. I'll give you a membership count in a couple of days, but in the meantime how about the lurkers introducing themselves and telling us what your names of interest are. Please put your names of interest in your heading, as people are more likely to read your message if the heading is relevant. Cheers for now Beryl O'Gorman List Administrator

    1. [AUS-VIC-West] In Search of a Father
    2. Julie Clift
    3. Hi, Whilst at the wedding I went to I met a guy who was adopted at birth and would really like to find his father. He has already found his mother some 10yrs ago, but sadly wasn't a happy reunion. If you can help, he would be most greatful. Here are the details: Birth Name: John Owen MAHWHINNEY/MAWHINNEY D.O.B: 16th April 1966 at Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne. Mother: Jennifer MAHWHINNEY/MAWHINNEY b. abt 1944 Maffra. Father: Reginald or Ronald KEAR Next to the fathers name on the birth certificate it had (PMG), I'm assuming this means Post Master General? Apparently also, the father tried to contact my friend when he was 17, that was 17yrs ago. If anyone know's of the father above, could you please email me.
