    2. Aileen Travis
    3. Does Laslett's Landing on the Glenelg River have any connection to a trucking company of I don't know when , possibly based in Horsham? called Lasletts . The Lasletts went to West Australia early 20th century. Sorry this is a little fragmented but I am remembering vague things told to me by my Grandmother when I was quite young ! Her aunt Hannah M. KERR married a Herbert LASLETT in W.A but they were both born VIC. Nothing of what I have found or been told makes any sense / connection. Hopefully Aileen Travis

This paper has been a tremendous help in adding to my family history. Make application through your local library on inter library loan from the National Library of Australia. 3. I'm seeking any information and family contact for one Angus MARTIN b.2 May 1865 in Portland, died 1964 Portland. This man's remarkable life mirrored Victoria's history for a century. He left Portland a "monument" to his wife in the form of the Ruth Martin Memorial Centre, on the corner next to the Star Theatre in Julia St. Portland (from distant memory.) His son, Sir Norman MARTIN, was once Victoria's Agent General in London. "Angy" dictated a controversial autobiography to one of his sons which was, "primarily for legal reasons", only distributed privately. I intend editing it now that any potential litigants have passed on. Is the Ruth Martin Centre still in existence and operating as intended? Where might I find more details on Sir Norman Martin's political career? TIA Barry Dunne

    3. G'day List Does anyone have a connection with William WHITE and Euphemia McKENZIE, who were married at the Golden Age Hotel in Beaufort, on December 18, 1865. They were both from Streatham, and I am wondering why they married in Beaufort? Is the Golden Age still in Neill Street? They were married by a Pastor M. Cherburg?, of the Baptist Church. Is there a Baptist Church in Beaufort? The witnesses were William Brown and Hector Gunn. Does anyone know if these names are familiar? Cheers, Bob McKenzie Australia mck@datafast.net.au
