Hi All, I have also been lurking in the background like Helen and reading each and all the emails just in case one comes up that I may be connected to. My husband's ancestors that left S.A. in abt 1890's for Vic are the two sons of William and Emma HOLDING, Samuel and his wife Eliza Rose nee Warner and children, there were more born over in Vic. John Holding and his wife Ismelda nee Warner ( a sister to Eliza Rose Warner) and their children and more also born over there. The main one of John's is Matilda b 1876 S.A. married in late 1890's to David Henry ELLIOTT some of their children I am really stuck with the Holding's resided in the Swan Hill district. GLATZ also my husband's on his late mother's side quite a few of them went over to Dimboola district to reside maybe in the late 1890's. I can give more Glatz female married names if there may be a connection? GIBSON my maternal side of the tree children of Samuel GIBSON b abt 1801 Norfolk England and Hannah nee Sharpe went to live in the Campbell's Creek, Castlemaine Vic district from abt 1855. Hannah died over there, I think she must have went over to Vic after Samuel died to be near her children. Thanks a lot in advance if there is a lister that may be able to help me with any of the research above. regards, Judy of S.A.

Hi Listers I am swapping hats from that of history hobby to that of Physics Teacher. Some of you may be interested in catching up on the new NASA Rover Mission that has successfully landed on Mars. The first images have been sent back by the rover and the web site to keep up-to-date with the developments on Mars can be found at: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html You will get much more information on this dynamic web site than from the occasional TV News report. You may find that some of your children are interested in this one. We cannot let the school holidays go to waste just on computer games. Cheers Daryl Povey

Hi Helen Great that you took the plunge! Well done. Are your ABSALOM, FORBES and ROBERTSON names Mortlake? If so I'm not connected, but knew families of these names well as I grew up there. And one of my in-laws in the HOLMES family is connected to the ROBERTSONs and the STUCHBERYs. Any Mortlake books? Hi Sharon, Thanks for your reply. I don't know much about the O'BRIENs. Agnes was born in 1872 at Yambuk, the daughter of John O'BRIEN and Bridget MADDIGAN. I found five brothers and five sisters in the BDMs so perhaps your John O'BRIEN is a descendant of one of the brothers. Agnes and James Lane TAYLOR had one child, a daughter Bessie born in Kalgoorlie WA - she married Harry MULDOON and they lived in Tocumwal NSW. Cheers Jan >I have a John O'BRIEN who married Claire O'LEARY, is this any connection to >you. I do not have anything on John (Johnny) O'BRIEN. Claire O'LEARY was >born 13 July 1921.
