    2. Noel & Del Bergman
    3. Hi List, My Great Grandfather JAMES WALLACE born in Warrnambool Vic on the 9th of August 1852. He was the son of JAMES WALLACE & RUTH QUINN. The Wallace family had arrived in Australia on the ship "Agenoria" in 1849. Originally they settled in Warrnambool, then Bushfield and Woodford. He married MARGARET REDDIE who was born in Darlington Vic on the 23rd of June 1853, the daughter of DANIEL REDDIE & JANET MCKENZIE. They arrived in Victoria on the ship "Mangerton" in 1852 JAMES & MARGARET married on the 12th of February 1878 at Woodford Vic. On the marriage certificate it states that the usual address for James was Natimuk. Their first three children were born at Natimuk. ERNEST JAMES WALLACE was born the 2nd of February 1879 DANIEL THOMAS WALLACE was born on the 30th October 1882 WILLIAM DAVID HORTLE WALLACE was born on the 18th April 1884 the next child RUTH QUINN FERGUSON WALLACE was born on the 4th of March 1886 at Norodjuha Vic. The family then moved to Queensland where the next five children were born. A sister of MARGARET REDDIE, JANET REDDIE who was born on the 12th of October 1855 at Wangoom Vic, married DAVID SHARP on the 19th March 1878. At least two of their children were born at Natimuk. DAVID SHARP was the son of WILLIAM SHARP & BETSY MCNICOLL. William is buried in Natimuk. DAVID SHARP owned land in Natimuk, he arrived in Australia on the ship "Great Australia" in 1864. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to find if my JAMES WALLACE owned land at Natimuk also or any other information on his time there. I would be interested if anyone can help with any information on any of these families. Now I have found what is, I suppose, the original or prepared copy for next meeting for the 1871-1872 association. I have been able to add quite a few names and make other more readable. 1. [AUS-VIC-West] Looking for REIDY/READY/RIEDY
    2. Jon Patrick
    3. hi Listers, I am searching for refrences to REIDY families in early western District history or genealogies. I have an ancestor Ann RIEDY, who married Edmund FINN (aka Garryowen) but there is no trace of her arrival on the shipping lists. Her death certificate indicates an arrival of about 1842 as does he sister's, MArcella. Ann's marriage certificate has Eliza Riedy as a witness and MArcella's death cetificate has Honora Ready as the informant. Based on a range of other information there is some reason to believe they had connections in the Western District. A search of all Reidys in the immigration lists indicate a number either landed in Geelong, Portland or Belfast, or made their way there to be with relatives. Any information would be helpful as I am now trying to piece together the fates of all Reidys in the hope of finding more on Ann. cheers jon -- Jon Patrick Sybase Chair of Information Systems School of Information Technologies University of Sydney Sydney, 2006 ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: www-mail.usyd.edu.au

    3. Hello List, My Great Great Great Grandparents Kenneth Murchison is said to have married Margaret McGillivray around 1854 in Branxholme. We have never been able to find any record of the marriage. The Murchsion family arrived in Australia on the ship "Edward Johnstone" in September 1854 and for a period of time they went by the surname McCalman or variants. Margaret McGillivray arrived on the "Hercules" in 1853. Can anyone give any suggestions on how to find this marriage. We have searched the Victorian B D & M index both on fiche and CD. Using many different combinations. We have contacted the Hamilton Presbyterian Church who passed our inquiry on to the local history centre to no avail.
