Hi Corinne, Contact the Department of Education, Vic - they have details of ALL teachers, wages, dates etc. Not sure which section handles it now and if there is a fee but the department is the only one with the complete index and files (at least they were the last time I had this sort of query). Beryl, have you used this source recently? Also, even if you're trying to find out when and where she was a teacher, can't you tell us when she MIGHT have been - i.e. between the ages of about 16 and 60?? When was than? Obviously if we're talking BEFORE the 1870s, then the Department of Education won't be of any help. Regards .............. No - I put it in the too hard basket. Only one lady there and you have to make an appointment. It's somewhere near Parliament House in the city and her name's Catherine. Couldn't even find a number in the phone book, and they're supposed to have a web page but that came up as can't be found as well. If anyone has the information it would be worth saving.
