    3. Hotspur is a small rural settlement in south-west Victoria between Heywood and Digby and located on the Crawford or Smoky River. Like many settlements it has a WW1 Avenue of Honour. Hotspur's Avenue contains 40 trees dedicated to memory of local servicemen from WW1. The Avenue has been restored and there will be a plaque unveiling ceremony at Hotspur, 2:00pm, Saturday 23rd June 2001. The list of Soldiers along with family connections and the original planters of trees in 1918 can be found on the web at: http://www.ballaratgenealogy.org.au/hotspur/avenue.htm I would be keen to hear from anyone who may be connected with the families of these soldiers or who may have any information about them or their families. All visitors are most welcome. Daryl Povey ================================================== Daryl K.
