I need Help!! When James Smith died 21 Oct 1915, he owned 240 acres of land made up of (4) allotments Lot (7) J Roberts & J Smith 56 acres Lot (4) T & P Cochran 56 acres Lot (3) T & P Cochran 64.0.25 acres Lot (2) Robert Wood 64.0.25 acres 28-12-1857 Total 240.0.50 acres Does anyone know when these allotments were purchased by James Smith ? or how I may find out ?? James willed the property to his daughter Nell Kerr, when she died 19 Apr 1931 she did not leave a will and the property had to be sold and funds distributed amongst the family. I understand that a Mr Walter (Watty) Hulme purchased the 240 acres and held it for a time, then sold the (4) allotments seperately. In 1939 Joseph Boyd purchased Lot (7) of 56 acres from Mr Watty Hulme and this property is still in the family. Can any kind person clarify or add to the history of this property ?? I have a copy of a diary of James' son David Smith which says that he built what appears to be a timber and hession house commencing on the 2nd June 1900, Duke Gardner was helping. What happened to this House ??? That's all for now, I do have more to share, thank you Doug
