January 3rd 1867 £100 REWARD - Whereas on the night of 30th November, the Public House known as the "Coach and Horses" belonging to Mr. Nicholas Herbert, situate near Beechworth, and a detached barn and stables, were wilfully set on fire by some person unknown: Notice is hereby given that the Imperial Insurance Company will pay the sum of One Hundred pounds for such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender. Information to be given to the Police Station Beechworth; or to Office of the Company, No 4, Collins street west, Melbourne - 7th December 1866 January 3rd 1867 WHEREAS on the night of Thursday, the 29th of November last, the Coach and Horses Hotel, owned and occupied by one Nicholas Herbert, situate on the Melbourne road, about four miles from Beechworth, was destroyed by fire together with a detached barn and stable belonging to the hotel; And whereas at an inquest held to investigate the origin of the fire, a majority of the jury were of opinion that it was wilfully caused: And whereas the said hotel and the furniture thereof were insured: And whereas the Imperial Insurance Company offer a reward of One hundred pounds for the detection of the person or persons who caused the said fire: Notice is hereby given that a reward of Fifty pounds (SUPPLEMENTAL TO THAT OFFERED BY THE imperial Insurance Company) will be paid by the Government for such information as will lead to the conviction of the person or persons guilty of setting fire to the premises.
