    3. The Blue Bell Hotel in Myrtleford does not seem to be menioned in Kay Robertson's book about Myrtleford. In 1869 Mary McManus and Andrew McMaster got married there - according to a family tree that I have been given. Has anyone else heard of this hotel? Many thanks Susan

    3. I have not heard of the Blue Bell Hotel, but the Blue Bell railway crossing was the second railway crossing after you left Myrtleford going towards Wangaratta. It was quite a dangerous crossing. Some years ago the road was re-routed and bypassed this crossing. It's a couple of k's out of Myrtleford. - Perhaps is was called the Blue Bell crossing because of the hotel. If you were to drop a line to the Historical Society in Myrtleford they may be able to help you. Regards. 3. Beverley, I think that I remember that wretched railway crossing! Going from Myrtleford towards Wang, wasn't it on a left hand bend at the top of a hill, and in a narrow gulley as well? Scary. Was it not far from the turn-off to Beechworth via Buckland Gap road?
