>From on this Day 10.2.1857. Wang celebrated its new racecourse with a three day meet. Those who attended voted it the best in the colony. Was Mary Dean's Mather there that day??? 11.2.1906 We've had one or two snake tales and a few others to boot, but here's one on the bunnies. By 1906 rabbits were in plague proportions so this story may not be so unbelievable. The most inexperienced shooter couldn't have missed at this time. One shot killed several bunnies at one time. The record for one shot was 27. Determined to beat that, Mr. Gibson of Gilgandra went out and shot 33. He laid a trail of water in the parched countryside and when the bunnies lined up for a drink he let go...........bang. Got the record too! Denise
