    3. We've had 11 now on the list of police in the north east. Does anyone know of the history of the police force in the Beechworth area during the latter half of the century (19th). I'd be interested to read of their "headquarters" etc etc and daily events. Must have been a very interesting time, but going by the short service for most on my list, probably very stressful.     3. Hi Denise, "My" NEV policeman was 6389 Constable Joseph DELANEY M.M., born in Greta, shot in the line of duty at Swan Hill, Sept 1923, and buried in Greta Cemetery.
